R Laboratory Data Analysis Course

About the course:

This half-day training program aims to teach researchers and specialists working in the field of clinical biochemistry how to analyze laboratory data efficiently, reliably, and in accordance with standards using the R programming language. After acquiring basic R programming knowledge, participants will have the opportunity to learn step-by-step applied analysis techniques for evaluating laboratory data. The training content covers topics such as performance evaluation of diagnostic tests (ROC analyses, Kappa test, calculation of diagnostic statistics, combination of diagnostic tests, etc.), comparison of laboratory methods (correlation analyses, Passing-Bablok and Deming regression analyses, Bland-Altman plots, etc.), and reference ranges (creation of discrete and continuous reference ranges). These analyses will be presented in accordance with international guidelines (e.g., CLSI EP09-A3, EP24-A2, EP28-A3C) and supported by a theoretical framework. Both hypothetical and real clinical datasets will be used during the training; analyses will be performed directly under the guidance of the instructor, and the results will be reported graphically. Participants in this course will gain proficiency in analyzing laboratory data using the R programming language, evaluating diagnostic tests, performing method comparisons, and establishing clinically significant reference ranges; they will also build a solid foundation for advanced analyses.

APPLICATION:

Participants are required to bring their own laptops to the training. Prior to the course, researchers will be provided with information on the installation of the R program and its related packages.
